I am Lecturer in Criminal Justice at Edith Cowan University, Australia. My research focuses on legal and political theory. I am the author of Civil Disobedience: a Philosophical Overview, and of several articles on civil disobedience and political obligation. More broadly, I am interested in normative issues in democratic theory and criminal justice. I have lectured on topics in philosophy of law, criminology, theories of punishment, Indigenous rights, and police ethics. I am the Australasia representative of the Society for Applied Philosophy. I am also the editor of the Civil Disobedience entry on PhilPapapers. I am an alumni of the University of Stirling (UK), the London School of Economics and the University of Bologna (Italy).
